Bitcoin; 9 Years of Broadcasting from Space for Greater Independence 🛰
Bitcoin; 9 Years of Broadcasting from Space for Greater Independence 🛰
Background
In 2017, the Blockstream satellite system was launched so that Bitcoin nodes could receive chain data without relying on the internet
This network now broadcasts Bitcoin data around the clock worldwide
Focus
🛰 Receiving Bitcoin data via satellite reduces dependence on internet infrastructure
🌍 Global satellite coverage can strengthen network access in areas with weak internet
🛡 This infrastructure adds another layer of resistance to Bitcoin's decentralized network
Implications
📡 The continuation of satellite broadcasting increases the resilience of Bitcoin infrastructure against communication disruptions
🔐 Greater independence in the data reception path can strengthen network resistance against infrastructure limitations
Conclusion
🟠 By expanding its communication paths, Bitcoin shows that resistance to disruption is an inseparable part of its architecture
