🎯 Golden Rule of Trading: Ins and Outs of Breakout and Breakdown Rules

In the world of technical analysis, breaking support and resistance levels is among the most profitable yet highest-risk trading opportunities. Entering incorrectly on fakeouts empties your account, but recognizing a true breakout in an uptrend and a valid breakdown in a downtrend creates astonishing profits.

🟢 1. What is a Breakout?
A breakout occurs when the price strongly breaks above an important resistance level (downtrend line, channel ceiling, or price pattern). This event indicates the dominance of buyers (bulls) over sellers.

Validity conditions: Significant growth in trading volume at the time of the break, closing a powerful candle (like Marubozu) above the resistance level.

Entry strategy:

Immediate entry at the moment of the break (high risk).

Entry after a pullback and retesting the broken level as new support (low risk and smart).

🔴 2. What is a Breakdown?
A breakdown is the reverse of a breakout; when the price breaks an important support level (uptrend line, channel floor, or support floor) downwards. This indicates the complete dominance of sellers (bears).

Validity conditions: Sharp increase in selling pressure and trading volume, registering a strong bearish candle whose body closes completely below the support level.

Entry strategy: Entering a short position after candle confirmation or during a price pullback to the old support level (which has now become resistance).

🔍 3. Vital Rules for Distinguishing Real Breaks from Fake Outs
To avoid falling into the trap of large traders, observing the following rules is mandatory:

Confirmation candle rule: Never enter a trade just by touching with a shadow or wick. The body of the main timeframe candle (e.g., 4-hour or daily) must close completely outside the level.

Volume rule: A break without high trading volume is 90% likely to be a fake break.

Time & Filter Rule:

Price filter: The price must move at least 1 to 3 percent away from the level.

Time filter: At least 1 to 2 full candles must remain above/below the level after the break.

Using auxiliary indicators: Convergence of indicators like RSI and MACD with the direction of the break doubles its validity.

🛡 4. Risk Management and Stop Loss
Stop Loss: In a breakout, the stop loss is placed slightly below the broken resistance level (or below the breakout candle). In a breakdown, the stop loss is placed slightly above the broken support level.

Take Profit: Determined based on the depth of the price pattern or the next resistance/support level.
